Preparations for our 90th Anniversary Celebration...

Hey Book Lovers!

As you all know, we here at Mentone Public Library have been busy preparing for the Library's 90th Anniversary Celebrations coming up on Saturday 30th May at 11am.

Anyone who has ever organised a big birthday party ('cause let's be honest, that's what it is) knows how much time, effort and money it takes.

Mentone Public Library is a not for profit organisation - so time and effort we have but money can prove to be somewhat elusive.  This is where our good friends in the local community come in handy.

One such friend is Peter Wolff from the Bendigo Bank in Parkdale.  Peter is the Branch Manager there and he very generously  provided the library with a grant of $500.  Love those big cheques!

A big thanks to library patron Lesley McGurgan who brought this wonderful initiative to our attention.

The 90th Anniversary Celebrations are shaping up to be one super party.  There will be live music, local authors, fabulous poetry readings, and cake!  Be sure to pop the date in your diary so as not to miss out.

After all, how many times do you turn 90?

Cheers,

Mentone Public Library
