Julia salutes the LOTS Cabin Crew & Passengers

Well done, Julia on another entertaining and

professional job at emceeing

the Legends of the Skies Theatre
Zoom session.

It was good to see Cr Rosemary West in the

audience indicating continued council

interest in this exemplary
digital community outreach.

Great to see Justine Gorny

in full voice singing the

LOTS introductory theme song.

I enjoyed Maggie Morrison’s poetic tribute to

the captain and crew of the

was on in the Mediterranean Sea when the

COVID-19 crisis flared in March – I originally

heard this poem read by Maggie live on

Alison and Jim gave handy insights into

LOTS play script writing.

ALISON: As I write, I try to imagine how the play might be staged and how I might find new ways to engage the audience.
JIM: I found that the introduction of new characters, not necessarily directly related to the main story line helped to jog the audience's attention.

David Dodd (left) recalls the Mentone landing of aviator Francesco di Pinedo

I thoroughly enjoyed David Dodds’ anecdote

about the aviator Francesco di Pinedo’s

landing of a flying boat at Mentone in June

1925 - a mere month after Mentone Public

Library first opened to the public

I coincidentally had a dream about the

library’s 1925 grand opening with such a

transportation machine making a cameo

appearance…now I know the reason why!

Looking forward to seeing LOTS make its

Youtube debut to mark its eighth series on
