 Re-Opening: 
Wednesday, 10 June 2020
Mentone Public Library 
will return 
to normal operating times
10am-12pm,
Mondays, Wednesday, 
Fridays, Saturdays
from 
Wednesday, 10 June 2020.

We will be observing the following practices 
to ensure the safety of all our valued patrons 
& new visitors to our library home...


Please use the provided hand sanitiser upon entry.

Disposable cups will be provided for hot & cold beverage.

1.5 metres social distancing must be practised at all times.

No more than nine patrons can be admitted 
to the library at a time.

Page Turners 
will be the only 
literary program to resume 
within the library space from: 
10-11.30am, Wednesday, 17 June 2020.

All other literary events associated with 
"An Anniversary Celebration for All Seasons" 
will run either as online events 
or through alternative mediums from
June to end October 2020.

We will confirm by mid-October 2020 
if our 
November & December 
scheduled events can run live in the library space 
or will be delivered via alternative platforms.

Our program
"95 Stories: 95 Reasons to Hope & be Inspired"  
remains an ongoing  offering
& we would love to continue 
to receive your contributions.

Literal Bliss:  Graeme & Elsie Johnstone Reflect  on their Recent Appearance at  Mentone Public Library  - 11am, Saturday, 26 August 2017 Elsie (seated) and  Graeme Johnstone unrolled their red carpet of literary accomplishments at the end of August 2017 at Mentone Public Library Though husband and wife writing duo  Graeme and Elsie Johnstone  penned a haunting, psychological, bleak portrait of a marriage turned sour and lethal in Lover, Husband, Father, Monster , their real-life marriage, could not be any more opposite: supportive, expressive, loving and successful. They are friends, literary partners, supporters and champions of one another and supporters and champions of all local writers. Reflecting on the Power of Story & the Conviction of Two Gifted Tellers; Noah Berlow & Szilva Vecserdy - 11am, Saturday, 25th March 2017

Singer-Songwriter & Recording Artist Szilva Vecserdy with Award-Winning Film-Maker Noah Berlow It is not every day that two acclaimed artists based in Los Angeles California fly in from overseas to speak at our library and discuss the power of story in film and music...matter of fact, this was a first for us. Equally special to us was the humility and pulsating social conscience of our presenters. In the space of two and a half hours, our audience of 29 guests were treated to beautiful vocals and a sharp, daring and innovative lens,  leaving us all with  an indelible mark of hope and promise for the future...and stronger sense of moral responsibility. Noah Berlow Noah opened as first speaker, performing a 360 degree turn and then thanking us for his time...at 45 seconds, we could not believe his presentation was over! This, of course, was not the case. It was a clever introduction about the nature of storytelling and the expectations and hope...
